DADDY'S HEARTBEAT (5) - HIS PLEASURES - THE TWO KEYS TO GOD'S HEART (PT.1)

THE TWO KEYS TO GOD'S HEART - ADORATION AND BROKENNESS

From the life of King David, we observe that the two things that pleased God most and qualified him to be called ‘the man after God’s own heart ’are: Adoration (worship) and Brokenness (humble under His dealings).

Adoration (worship) and brokenness are the two most important keys to tug at the heartstrings of God and will lead us into His inner chambers during our ministry and intimacy with Him, the highest form of worship.

Songs of Songs 1: 4: ‘(Beloved) Take me away with You – let us hurry! Let the King bring me into His chambers... (Friends) We rejoice and delight in You; we will praise Your love more than wine… (Beloved) How right they are to adore You!’

There are delight and fulfillment in Adoration (worship). God is love (1John 4:8). He is an epitome of perfect and divine love. And those who draw near to Him will receive the immense feelings of love, peace and joy beyond all understanding ( the living waters), His dominant characters. There’s no high greater than the Lord most High!!!

I have said before that humanity is a sponge for love especially in this fallen world where the hearts of men have grown cold because of wickedness. (Matt. 24:12) And this power of His love will draw all men unto Him in worship and these people will hunger and thirst for more and more. Fill us Lord, we pray!!! And God will be delighted too in this fellowship of love, in the flow of our spirits being one with Him; Heart to heart, Spirit to spirit. Hallelujah!!!

Psalm 51:16-17, ‘You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; You do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit and a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.’

But God is also a ‘Consuming Holy Fire'. Deut. 4:24, ‘For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.’ (Heb.12:29). God hates sins but He loves the sinners.

God’s Holy Fire will devour all the impurities in you gradually as you draw closer and closer by the magnetic power of His love. God will also use testing and trials to humble you and break you so that He can transform you to be more and more like Him. And God will be delighted in that process of purifying you.

King David in the Bible was able to follow after God’s own heart not only through his Adoration (worship) but also allowed God to break and make him, the man God would want him to be to serve His purpose.

They are a ‘double happiness’ to God. He will accomplish His perfect plan through this ‘love and chastisement’ in due time.

‘ADORATION’ IS THE CARROT AND ‘BROKENNESS’ IS THE STICK. That’s how they train horses. They will attract and reward the horses with carrots or bits when they do well and they will use the cane if they are stubborn.

Rev.3:19, ‘Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline.’ They work hand in hand.
God draws you by His love and purifies you in the process. Glory to His Name!!!

Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine to go down; the fulfillment in Adoration (Worship) is the sugar that will help us through the times of God’s dealings (the medicine). Amen!!!

ADORATION (WORSHIP)

What is adoration? Adoration is the highest form of worship. It begins where corporate worship ends. It is done in the secrecy of your private room called the secret place. There is this throne room worship where we bow in awesome respect and thanksgiving where we throw our crowns to the floor and fall prostrate before God in great reverence.

There are times when we enter the chamber of God and we experience divine love and intimacy with Him. God has many facets to His character, He is not a boring God or emotionless. Everything has a season. It is God’s choice. He will initiate while you sing love songs to Him. We just respond spontaneously while we sit at His feet in adoration.
Song of Songs 2:7, ‘…Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.’

Many people thought that by going to church every Sunday and sing some songs, is already worship. It is only the outer court worship. When you come into the Holy of Holies, like the Priest who burnt incense, it is one to one, God and the Priest, a personal relation is developed when you are one to one, the highest form of worship.

Psalm 27:4, ‘One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze (behold) upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.’

Adoration is :-

Love responding to love in worship. It is spontaneous when you are singing love songs and worshipping Him. The Bible says, whatever measures you give unto God, it shall be measured back unto you. (Matt.7:2) There is a flow of fellowship. Love will attract love,
Song of Songs 6:3, ‘I am my lover’s and my lover is mine: He browses among the lilies.’

To look at God intensely with love,
‘…to gaze (behold) upon the beauty of the Lord…’ (Psalm 27:4)

To give God the highest degree of reverence and submission,
Psalm 5:7, ‘But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house; in reverence will I bow down towards your holy temple.’

The physical expression of an attitude of the heart; like that of a dog and its master (master-servant), or a husband and a wife (lover).

Judson Cornwall, a famous authority and specialist in writing books of worship, a lover of God, describes adoration in his book , ‘The Secret of Personal Prayer’ as: ‘Stirring the emotions to their maximum intensity in responding with unearthly delight, unspeakable joy and unsurpassed peace; Adoration inspires love and devotion so intense that it surpasses our understanding.’

This is one dimensions of worship that most people of God are not aware of or are too shy to share. This is the part where Jesus describes in Luke 10:38-42 as ‘what is better’ or ‘the best part’ of worship.

Jesus was at the house of Martha and Mary. Martha was distracted by all the preparation that had to be made, and Mary, her sister, was sitting at the feet of Jesus, ministering and adoring Him. Martha obviously was annoyed and told Jesus to ask Mary to help her. Jesus rebuked her saying, ‘Martha, Martha you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.’ (Luke 10:41). Praise the Lord!!!

It is now time for the people of God to come into His chamber and have love talk with Him. We do not have to worship from afar. We have been born in a time such as this that we can have easy access to the throne room of God by the precious blood of the Lamb, who has once taken us into the Holy of Holies. We can come boldly before His throne.

This is one song that I have written to bring people step-by-step into the loving presence of God: first, the impersonal bright light (outer court); then, the awesome throne room experience (Inner Court); and finally, to the highest worship, the chamber of God where we will drink from the river of His Divine love.
Psalm 46:4, ‘There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.’

It is included in my album called ‘Intimacy’, song No. 8

Click and listen to the song while you follow the words. AWESOME!!!

ADORATION (Habakkuk 3:4, Isaiah 6:1, Gal 5:22)

Spoken:

Your splendor is like sunrise
Rays flash from every side
When I approach this circular radiance
I am consumed by Your brilliance
As I begin to draw closer and closer
I am overwhelmed by Your intense brightness

Within the core of that Holy fire
I see a man sitting on a throne
And the train of His robe fills the temple
You are highly exalted and praise O God
I stand and begin to worship in awe
My crowns I throw to the floor

Your beautiful countenance is oozing with love
Peace, joy, tenderness and kindness from above
My heart falls for those graceful features
My passionate emotions have been stirred
I find myself in love, like never before
Your lovely face God, I adore
I love You Lord, give me more

Sing:

O the soft, soft gentle love of God is pouring
We exchange this fellowship of love
O the soft, soft tender peace of God is flowing
We commune in intimate love

Give me more Lord
Give me more
Take me higher
Let me soar………….repeat
